Lucie and David’s Wedding- The Tythe Barn- Sneak Peek!

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Lucie and David’s Wedding at The Tythe Barn in Launton near Bicester.

Lucie and David are great fun to be around and the weather was perfect so I knew we were in for a fantastic days shooting as I arrived at the Bridal suite to meet Lucie, her sister Sophie who had flown all the way from New Zealand to be there for the day, her mum Mandy and the rest of the bridesmaids all finishing their final preparations before heading over to St Mary’s Church.

It was the first time I have shot at St Mary’s in Launton and I hope I get to again as its a lovely church with great natural light and the perfect setting for a wedding.

Lucie and David had loads of little details and events in their wedding which made it personal to them. Some friends of theirs sang whilst they signed the register, one of their favourite songs played after a pray at the alter. Another friend played guitar and sang during the cocktail hour, a caricaturist drew many a picture of their guests, they did a balloon release before dinner and the reception room was full of little details. All of these little touches made it such a unique and fun wedding to be at.

Lucie and David, thank you so much for asking me to capture your day. We had a great time with you all. Have a great time in the Maldives, I have loads to show you both when you get back but for now heres a sneak peek!

Also thanks to Paul for assisting, great job as always mate.

Gemma and Shaun’s Wedding- The Tythe Barn- Sneak Peek!

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Gemma and Shaun’s wedding at The Tythe Barn in Launton.

I had a great time with Gemma and Shaun on their pre wedding shoot and I knew from listening to their ideas that their wedding was going to be amazing and it sure delivered!

I met up with Gemma at the Bicester Gold Club and Spa where she was finishing her final bridal preparations before heading off to St Edburg’s church in Bicester.

The bridal car was a surprise from Shaun and he had been joking with Gemma for weeks that it was the A-Team van, then the car from Back to the Future! However Gemma was very relieved when a beautiful Rolls Royce picked her and Steve up for the short journey to the church.

Shaun was all smiles when I met him at the front of the church as was Gemma as she walked down the aisle with her proud father to join hands with her soon to be husband.

The church had great light streaming in through the stain glass windows as Gemma and Shaun exchanged rings and read their vows making for some beautiful pictures before they left the church to cheers from their family and friends.

A vintage bus took all the guests back to The Tythe Barn which is one of my favourite wedding venues. Will, Emma and the team always make sure the barn looks perfect and wedding days there always run so smoothly.

The guests enjoyed canapes in the garden whilst we did the group shots and we used the great light to our advantage whilst we took Gemma and Shaun around the grounds for their couple shots.

After dinner Steve, Shaun and The Best Men gave some cracking speeches. The Best Men had the all the guests in fits of laughter with their speech/slideshow. Definitely one of the best speeches I have heard at a wedding.

As the day for us drew to a close Gemma and Shaun shared their first dance as husband and wife and soon all their friends and family joined them to complete a fantastic day.

Thanks to Gemma and Shaun for asking me to capture your wedding and thanks to all your friends and family for making us feel so welcome. Thanks also to Paul for assisting, awesome job!

Well, I have loads to show you in a few weeks but for now heres a sneak peek!

Sara and Jack’s Wedding- Merrymead Farm- Sneak Peek!

On Saturday I shot the wedding of Sara and Jack at St Mary’s Church in Mursley with the reception held in a marquee at Merrymead Farm which is run by Jack and his parents.

The weather threw everything at us throughout the day including sun, wind, rain and hail stones but we continued to look for the best light and used it to our advantage to create some great pictures for Sara and Jack to remember their big day by.

Sara walked with her bridesmaids and her father Andrew from her parents house to the church as its only 100 yards down the road and Jack arrived with the boys in style on their tractor!

The ceremony was beautiful with some lovely readings and we left the church with the sun shining so everyone enjoyed a few rays whilst we did the group shots before heading off to Merrymead Farm.

The marquee was decorated beautifully and the path leading up to the entrance was surrounded by flowers and lanterns which really gave the venue that extra wow factor.

I had a great time with Jack, Sara and all their family and friends and we even managed to get a sunset picture to finish which was a perfect ending to a great wedding.

I look forward to sharing the full collection with everyone in a few weeks but for now heres a sneak peek!

Big thanks to Keith for assisting on the day, great job as always.

Michael and Stephanie’s wedding- Mercure Parkside Hotel- Sneak Peek!

Don’t you just love the Easter weekend bank holiday! Well mine started on Thursday when I got to shoot Michael and Steph’s wedding at the Mercure Parkside Hotel in Milton Keynes.

I have known Michael for years, we used to bowl together all over England back in our teens and we had a great laugh doing it. When he asked me to shoot his and Steph’s wedding I jumped at the chance and I knew it would be a great day.

It was the first time I had shot at the Parkside and I hope to go back in the future, it’s a great venue with nice grounds and a newly refurbished bar with very stylish features, some of which we used in the pictures.

The weather was good to us, overcast for most of the day which for photography is usually a good thing and it meant we got to have some fun outside with the group shots and bridal party.

All the guests were such fun and I knew quite a few of them from the bowling days so it was nice to see so many familiar faces when I entered the ceremony minutes before Steph walked down the aisle with her very proud step Dad Ian.

Alex and Dom did a great job with the readings and there were some lovely moments during the ceremony which made for some great reaction shots.

Michael builds parts for the Red bull formula one racing team so the Red bull tower was a present from them and Steph had also made sure all the little details were thought about which made for a beautiful reception room where everyone enjoyed a 3 course meal before the speeches which were brilliantly delivered by Ian, Grandad, Michael and Best Man Rob.

After the new Mr and Mrs had their first dance the dancefloor didn’t stop all night and provided a perfect ending to a perfect day.

Congratulations Michael and Stephanie and thanks for asking me to capture your wedding day, we had a blast!

Thanks also to Joyce for assisting/2nd shooting on the day, your a rockstar!

Heres some shots!

Kitty and Steven’s pre wedding shoot in Las Vegas!

Well this sure was a pre wedding shoot with a difference. It was shot the day before the wedding, in a Neon Sign Graveyard, in Las Vegas!

Once it had all been arranged that I would be shooting Kitty and Steven’s wedding in Las Vegas we instantly said we have to do a funky pre wedding shoot whilst we are there too. Funnily enough the day before Steven had seen an article in the Metro about a neon sign museum. It’s where all the old signs dating back to when Vegas was just a desert and a couple of casinos go when they retire from their glitzy lifestyles, and its pretty damn awesome!

You have to hire the place out and because some of the signs are very old and breaking away in parts you aren’t allowed to go any closer than a foot within each sign. We only had an hour to do the shoot and the sun was pretty harsh so it pretty much decided which signs we used but thankfully I had suspected as much and brought my Elinchrom Quadra flash lights with me which just about overpowered the Vegas sun and created some pretty cool sunburst (where the sun looks like a star) shots.

I had a great time with Steven and Kitty who pretty much laughed, joked around and oozed coolness throughout the whole shoot and made my job an easy one. Thanks also to Best Man Mark/come lighting technician who followed us around with the trusty Quadra.

Heres some shots from a truly unforgettable experience!

The Wedding of Hayley and Ryan- The Oxford Belfry- Sneak Peek!

On Sunday the 1st of April I had the pleasure of shooting Hayley and Ryan’s wedding at the Oxford Belfry in Thame.

It was another sunny Spring day as I met up with Hayley whilst she was carrying out her final bridal preparations and she seemed very relaxed, surrounded by her bridesmaids and both the Mums. The champagne was flowing and everyone was looking forward to a great day and it sure delivered.

As Hayley walked down the aisle there were a few teary eyes and rightfully so as Hayley looked amazing and her Dad looked very proud of his little girl. The ceremony was great and there were loads of laughs and a bit of banter from their family and friends throughout as well and two lovely readings before they exchanged their vows to become husband and wife.

Everyone made the most of the sun with drinks in the gardens whilst we did some formal shots. Infact the sun was so strong we left the Bride and Groom shots till after dinner when the light was more favourable and I’m glad we did as we got some lovely back light for some very warm natural portraits.

The speeches were hilarious with the best men giving Ryan the option of having a shot or a story told about him and most of the time Ryan took the shot but we did get to hear a few “boys on tour” tales from over the years :)

The evening was a busy affair with loads more guests arriving to party the night away and the dancefloor was in full swing after a great first dance.

Congratulations to Hayley and Ryan and thanks for asking me to capture your wedding day, I had a blast with you all.

I hope you enjoy looking through these on honeymoon and I look forward to showing you the full collection soon.

Thanks also to Paul Mannion for assisting on the day, great job as always mate.

The Wedding of Steven and Kitty- Las Vegas!

When I was asked to shoot a wedding in Las Vegas you instantly think cheesy Elvis gigs but once I met Steven and Kitty I knew it was going to be nothing but class from start to finish.

I had a few days in Vegas with all the guys, 38 in total made the trip out from all over the world from Japan to Canada. You could really see that nobody wanted to miss this special occasion and what a place to do it, a ceremony right next to lake Jacqueline just 5 miles from the strip.

Most of us were staying at the Tropicana hotel with Kitty’s family staying in a villa close by. I started the morning with the boys at 9am in Steven’s suite and we sure had some fun doing some relaxed shots of the guys in their suits and other details which had all been carefully thought out.

Next up I went over to the Villa to see Kitty who was very relaxed and there was not a nerve in sight. Her dress was gorgeous and I couldn’t wait to see Steven’s reaction as she walked down the Aisle with her very proud father. We jumped in a limo to get to the ceremony….hey it’s Vegas! and arrived an hour before so there was plenty of time to relax and just enjoy surroundings.

It all got a bit emotional as Kitty walked down the aisle to wow’s from their close family and friends. The ceremony was a cracker with a lovely reading delivered by the best man Mark before the new Mr and Mrs Lai walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.

After the group shots which were also very entertaining, see below :) I had some time with Kitty and Steven before the meal so we walked around the lakeside complex which has great gardens and that beautiful Nevada light that I wish I could have brought home in my suitcase.

Mark once again delivered on his Best Man’s speech which covered a few funny stories and some heart felt moments from the many years he has known Steven. Steven also said some lovely words about the day and his beautiful new wife Kitty before the dance floor filled and everyone brought the house down to some funky tracks.

Limo’s arrived to take us all back to the Mandarin Oriental Sky bar which has the most amazing views of the strip where the party continued late into the night…what a perfect day.

Congratulations to Steven and Kitty, your made for each other and I thank you so much for asking me to cover your big day, it was so much fun!!

I have loads to show you but for now heres a sneak peek!

The Wedding of Jo and Chris at The Tythe Barn Launton- Sneak peek!

Well, what a way to start the 2012 wedding season!

I had an amazing time shooting the wedding of Jo and Chris at the Tythe Barn in Launton near Bicester. It’s always great to shoot at the barn and I’m lucky enough to be visiting the venue 10 times this year and if they are all as perfect as this one then it will be a great year.

The weather was excellent, so much so it was hard to believe it was March and as Paul and I set off to meet Jo and her family/bridesmaids at the Barn we new it was going to be a cracking day for photography.

The mood was very relaxed in the bridal suite whilst Jo had her hair and make up done and Chris seemed equally chilled when I met him 30 minutes before the ceremony which was to take place in the barn (you can have your ceremony inside or outside at The Tythe Barn).

The look on Chris’s face as Jo walked down the aisle was one of pure happiness, and Jo looked amazing in her vintage style lace dress complete with Jimmy Choos! There were some lovely readings during the ceremony and plenty of laughs and a few tears too.

The cocktail hour was enjoyed in the sunshine as Jamie Oliver’s “Fabulous Feasts” provided the canapes whilst we did the group shots and then walked around the venue to get some great shots of the new Mr and Mrs.

An equally fabulous meal followed before it was time for the speeches which were both heart felt and entertaining with Chris’s two best men pulling out probably the largest wedding present I have ever seen presented…..a Canoe!!

Finally the day finished with a packed dancefloor thanks to Chris and Jo’s guests and a very cool band (let me know their name guys so I can link to their site :)

Such a great day, thanks so much to Jo and Chris for asking me to capture it and to all their friends and family for making us feel so welcome. Thanks also to Paul Mannion for assisting on the day.

Heres their sneak peek!

Pre Wedding Shoot- Mike and Steph- Sneak Peek

I was chuffed when Michael and Steph asked me to shoot their wedding as I have known Michael since I was 12, we are old bowling buddies and have had many a laugh over the years bowling all over the country.

Funnily enough Mike and Steph actually met at Jardines, our local bowling club (which sadly closed recently) so I have met Steph a fair few times too and was really looking forward to their pre wedding shoot last week.

We just about managed to go ahead with the shoot as it had rained all morning but thankfully it held out for us and we used a park close to Mike and Steph’s house where they regularly walk their charismatic dog “Dennis”!

I also got to have a sneaky peek at their wedding venue as we popped over there for a drink afterwards and it’s gorgeous so I’m looking forward to the wedding even more now.

Here’s a few shots from the day.

Fashion shoot with Rosie MacPherson

Last week I did a fashion shoot with a friend of mine, Jon Mold in a very cool house just off of Brick lane in London.

The house had some amazing places to shoot and the natural light in a lot of the rooms was to die for, add to that the fact we had an awesome model who we have both worked with before- Rosie MacPherson and it was sure to be a good day.

Recently I have been inspired by looking at various adverts in fashion magazines like Vogue and Elle so wanted to try and put something together with that kind of look.

Heres some shots, be good to hear your comments :)
