Well Friday was a little wet to say the least but we had such a great time at Nicola and Adam’s wedding at the Great Barn in Aynho. Nicola and Adam are such a lovely laid back couple, they were a pleasure to photograph and the rain actually “helped” us create some beautiful portraits of them both throughout the day.
It’s often said that people make weddings and it’s so true. We had such a great bunch of people at this wedding that the whole day was full of fun, laughter, and just everyone having a good time.
I have shot weddings at the Great Barn before but this was the first time I had done a ceremony there and it truly is a beautiful setting with light streaming in through the side windows. I loved the moment Nicola and her father Martin walked down the aisle both smiling away and it was great to capture Adam and Nicola saying their vows surrounded by all their closest friends and family.
We made the most of the barn to do some group and couple shots after the ceremony whilst everyone enjoyed a few drinks and canapes before the wedding breakfast. They had a live Saxophone and keyboard player who created a lovely atmosphere whilst everyone mingled and enjoyed the setting.
The speeches were up first before the meal, always one of my favourite parts of the wedding day and they provided lots of laughter and gave us some great opportunities for some fun reaction shots your see below.
After dinner we did manage to nip outside during light drizzle to get some pretty cool shots next to the corn field. The weather providing us with some pretty dramatic skies.
Part of the evenings entertainment was a caricaturist who did some amazing sketches of the guests and it was so fun watching everyones reactions when the drawings were revealed.
To finish off the days formalities Nicola and Adam took to the dance floor for their first dance closely followed by their friends and family to party on into the night.
Nicola and Adam, thanks so much for asking me to photograph your wedding. I hope you enjoying looking through the below storyboard whilst enjoying your honeymoon in the Maldives. Heres some photos!
Many thanks also to Leela Wanless for assisting and 2nd shooting, great job as always!
