On Saturday I had the pleasure of Photographing Jess and Adriano’s wedding in Whitchurch. It’s definitely the shortest distance I have ever had to travel to a wedding with both the venues being only 10 minutes from my house.
I had met with Jess and Adriano months ago and they shared with me their ideas of a church wedding then a marquee reception at Jess’s family home literally a short walk from the church. Little did I know just how beautiful Jess’s parents house “Mary’s Monks House” was. I met up with Jess, her bridesmaids and her family at the house to start bridal prep and it had been totally transformed into a stunning wedding venue with two marquees, lanterns, a bar, tables, a photo booth and a reception with a dance floor area all beautifully decorated with hand made (mostly by Jess’s very talented Nan) bunting, table decorations and flowers. Sam, Sally, Jess, Adriano and I’m sure many other family members had worked so hard there was not a leaf out of place, such a fabulous set up and I just couldn’t wait for it all to start.
Jess looked absolutely stunning in her dress which had a beautiful lace train along with the lace edged veil. There were a few tears as she put it on surrounded by her bridesmaids. One of my favourite parts of the day was when Jess saw her father Sam for the first time. It’s moments like that that make my job so special as your see below.
Adriano was waiting patiently at the church with his best man Raff, and his ushers, Edo, Charlie and Nic, all of which looking very smart in top hat and tails. It was all smiles as Jess walked down the aisle and the ceremony was lovely with readings from friends and of course the exchange of vows and rings before Jess and Adriano were proclaimed husband and wife!
The weather had thankfully held up nicely and we had sunny spells throughout the day with the prefect temperature for everyone to stay cool. After some confetti throwing outside the church everyone made the short walk over to Mary Monks House for drinks and canapés whilst we did a few group shots before the wedding breakfast began.
The wedding breakfast was a four course meal and with Adriano being Italian of course there was a pasta dish, with all the pasta prepared by Adriano’s Mum Caterina. I was lucky enough to have some and it was amazing! We managed to nip out between courses to do some bride and groom shots around the grounds before the speeches started.
We loved capturing all the goings on of the speeches, they were all so funny, the reactions shots are classic. All the speakers did a great job reliving stories about the bride and groom as well as some about the parents from both sides which was also a nice touch and something you don’t always hear. Many thank you’s and presents were passed out as it had taken a lot of effort from so many people to put on such a fantastic wedding day.
Before we knew it, it was time for the evening celebrations to begin and there was a live band to get the party started on what I must say was the busiest dance floor we have had in a long time. I could barely get find a gap to shoot but we loved every minute of it as everyone let their hair down and partied on into the night.
Jess and Adri, we had such a great time with you and all your lovely guests. Thanks so much for choosing me to photograph your big day. I have so many pictures to share with you both you would not believe it but for now heres your sneak peek storyboard!
Big thanks also to Leela Wanless for assisting and 2nd shooting on the day, great job as always.
