I had an absolute blast at Elin and Henry’s wedding on Saturday. It was a long drive to Elin’s parent’s house in Shropshire but the sun was shining and I just knew it was going to be a fantastic day. I was even more excited when I pulled into the drive to see a giant Tipi style reception area with the surrounding grounds covered in flowers, hay bales, a stable yard barn and lawn games. The perfect relaxed Summer wedding was all there waiting and I just could not wait for it all to get started.
Elin was a bridesmaid at her sister Caroline’s wedding which I also had the pleasure to photograph so it was nice to see a few familiar faces as I started doing some bridal prep photos in the cottage itself. Elin seemed pretty relaxed until her dress was on then I think there were a few nerves of excitement, but she looked amazing in her dress and the detail on the back was beautiful.
Henry was waiting at the church with all their closest friends and family and once again I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to see a full brass band. As Elin walked down the aisle with her proud father John it was a really special moment, the sound of the band really created an atmosphere which is so hard to explain, it was like being in a movie….amazing!
The ceremony was great with lovely readings from family members and Elin and Henry couldn’t stop smiling at each other as they read their vows and exchanged rings. Loved the celebration after their first kiss too as your see below.
We took the opportunity to do a few shots around the church with Elin and Henry as well as some nice documentary of their guests. They left through a confetti tunnel before heading off to the reception which was literally a mile from the church. Everyone enjoyed a few drinks and canapés in the sunshine whilst we did a few group shots and just enjoyed getting immersed in all the activities going on.
Elin’s parents Jill and John had worked tirelessly on making everything look perfect and there wasn’t a blade of grass out of place, a beautiful setting for a fabulous couple.
Next up it was time for the wedding breakfast which was then followed by the speeches which were expertly delivered by John, Henry and Jim. So much laughter, a few tears and plenty of toasts and stories shared. We got some great reaction shots of the guests which is always a sign of good speeches.
Some time to chill after dinner whilst the sun dipped its head below the horizon and before we knew it it was time for the first dance and soon the dance floor was so full we could barely get the camera in to the action without dancing ourselves, which we did 🙂
Elin and Henry, we loved spending time with you guys and thanks so much for asking me to photograph your wedding. I hope you have a great time on Honeymoon in Italy and I look forward to sharing the full collection with you soon but for now heres your sneak peek storyboard!
Big thanks also to Leela Wanless for assisting and 2nd shooting on the day. Great job as always.
