Last Friday I had the pleasure of photographing Jack and Kirsty’s wedding at the Notley Tythe Barn in Long Crendon.
I’d been looking forward to this wedding for ages as I have known Jack and Kirsty for many years and couldn’t wait to see them become husband and wife. They had some great ideas and plans for the day and I just knew it would be a great wedding and it sure was.
I met up with Kirsty and her bridesmaids at her parents house which was nice and relaxed but everyone was full of excitement for the day ahead. Kirsty looked stunning in her dress and her hair (and her bridesmaids) was done by Lorraine Newark who is one of the best around.
The girls were ahead of time so I got to do some shots with the boys at Notley and we had a great moody sky to use before everyone headed in for the ceremony. Jack was full of smiles and looked very dapper in his silver/grey suit ready for the ceremony to begin.
Kirsty and her bridesmaids/father arrived in two vintage Rolls Royces which looked great as they came down the long drive leading up to the barn. It all got a bit emotional as everyone held back tears as Kirsty and her proud father David walked down the aisle to start the ceremony.
It was a lovely ceremony with readings from Kirsty’s bridesmaids and some great moments as James was very eager to do his best man duties with the rings and Jack was equally as eager to have his first kiss as a married man both before being asked by the registra haha. Great photo opportunities all round as the Autumn light lit Kirsty and Jack perfectly throughout their vows.
There was loads of confetti thrown as Kirsty and Jack walked back down the aisle and everyone gathered outside to enjoy drinks and canapés whilst we did a few group and couple shots. We had great fun with the bridal party taking shots around the grounds. Such a relaxed atmosphere with great people.
It was soon time to head inside for the speeches which were excellently delivered by David, Jack and James. James did a great poem all about Jack’s life growing up which was hilarious and included a few Jack impressions. It was a great way to start the wedding breakfast!
After the meal Syler arrived to wow the guests with his magic and mind reading skills. I’ve seen Syler at many weddings and he’s always amazing. I still have no idea how he does half his tricks.
We even had some time to nip out to capture some sunset photos. The sky was an awesome electric blue with the sun at one end and the moon at the other. Photographic heaven!
It was soon time for Jack and Kirsty’s first dance as husband and wife which was also another highlight of the day. Then everyone joined them on the dance floor to really get the party started!
Jack and Kirsty, thank you for asking me to photograph your wedding day. You guys are one special couple and I’m just so glad I got to see you become husband and wife! I hope you have a great time in New York and Vegas…how can you not 🙂 Here’s your sneak peek storyboard!
Big thanks also to Leela Wanless for assisting and 2nd shooting on the day. Great job as always.
