Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and Mikey’s beautiful wedding at the fantastic Tythe Barn in Launton.
I met up with Sarah and her bridesmaids at her parents house which is literally a stones throw from the church. Sarah was super organised and everything ran like clockwork whilst they finished their final preparations. There was a lovely moment between Sarah and her father Keith as he saw her for the first time in her stunning dress which had been well hidden all morning in what was dubbed as “The Secret Room”.
The boys had been enjoying a few pre ceremony drinks at the pub across the road and Leela met up with them for a few photos before they headed over to the church. Everyone was in good spirits and looking very dapper in their suits.
There was a break in the weather just in time for Sarah to make the short dash over to the church. She looked amazing as she walked down the aisle and Mikey looked blown away as they finally joined hands and the ceremony began.
The ceremony was beautiful with lovely readings and a few happy tears throughout as Mikey and Sarah said their vows and exchanged rings to become the new Mr and Mrs Barlow!
We did a few group shots in the church after as the rain started again but we still managed confetti outside as Mikey and Sarah made their way to a very grand vintage car called “Harriett” which was to take them to the Tythe Barn for the reception.
The Tythe barn always looks fantastic no matter what time of the year but it looked especially great on Saturday with a real warm Winter feel to it with silver branches and fairy lights in the rafters and flowers and candles covering the tables. A perfect setting for the wedding breakfast.
After drinks and canapés we managed to nip outside for a few shots and then again later to make the most of the lighting around the barn. Sarah and Mikey were troopers and didn’t even feel the cold/rain, I think the wedding day adrenaline had kicked in and it was a joy to photograph them both.
Next up was the speeches and they were all delivered brilliantly by Keith, Mikey and his Best Man. So many good stories about how Mikey and Sarah and their time together. We got some great guest reaction shots, so much fun to capture.
Up next was a surprise for the guests. One person from each table had been picked to carve the roast Pork for the table. Little did they know they were to be dressed up in full chefs outfits and came out dancing down the aisle to “You can leave your hat on”. They all did a great job and throughly amused the crowd.
After a lovely dinner prepared by Jamie Oliver’s fabulous feasts everyone headed outside to make a line of sparklers which Sarah and Mikey walked through and back into the barn to cut the cake. We had a couple of extras to do a long exposure shot of Mikey and Sarah making a heart, good skills guys.
It was soon time to get the party started with their first dance and then the dance floor filled to some classic tracks. There was even a conga which every guest got involved in as your see below.
Sarah and Mikey, huge congratulations to you both and your families on a cracking wedding day. We had such a great time with you both. I really look forward to sharing the full collection with you soon but for now heres your sneak peek!
Big thanks also to Leela Wanless for assisting and 2nd shooting on the day.
